When it comes to nailing down the who, what, and why for your meeting, you’re the expert! Even though we can’t answer those questions for you, we can offer some insight to help you along.
While our experience extends to every type of meeting, today we are examining cross-functional collaboration meetings. These questions are intended to guide you through the planning process and help you say “yes” to the important things and “no” to those that don’t match your goals for the meeting.
What is the goal of this meeting? Are you aiming for a fun outing or a collaborative project? Are you resolving an issue or honoring an employee?
Why do you need team building? Of course, everyone needs to invest in their staff. Is this particular event an ongoing event or a new standard you hope to implement? Or did something occur that prompted this session?
Who will attend? Is this session for a specific department? Will your team building efforts be negated if not everyone is invited?
When will your meeting be held? What are the schedule limitations of those being invited?
Where will your meeting be held? Is there a specific venue that will help you get the most out of your meeting? (Hint: offsite meetings are always more productive!)
