Blue Ocean Facilities was conceived by The Valen Group, who consults on innovation with many of the top Fortune and Global 1000 companies known for innovation. In their experience, successful innovation requires three critical components: The Right People, The Right Process, and a component that is often missing—The Right Environment. This missing component led to the creation of Blue Ocean Facilities. Developed in consultation with design architects, creativity researchers and facilitators, the space radiates creativity, and most importantly, is designed to help craft innovative solutions to complex problems. A proprietary research study conducted by The Valen Group focused on both the exploration of theory and practice found in creativity, entrepreneurship, and innovation fields. The following factors were identified that help promote and enhance innovativeness:
	People Think Differently in a Different Environment—make it comfortable and inviting with a twist here and there to get them thinking
Create an Open and Adaptable Space —allow for a wide variety of configurations
	Provide Simple and Workable Amenities— allow people to be unencumbered so they can focus on what needs to get done
Foster a Collaborative Environment— help promote collaboration, trust and idea laddering with closeness
	Integrate Design Elements that Enhance Innovativeness—leverage knowledge in creative theory to enhance environmental factors
